Imagine the Impact

How does a 5K Race make a huge impact on the global movement to end breast cancer forever? Through the fundraising efforts of every participant.

You don’t need to be a fundraising expert to be successful at it -- you just need the desire to stand up to breast cancer and make a difference. Thanks to people like you, in 2008-2009 the Komen San Diego Affiliate was able to fund $650,000 for education, screening and treatment services in San Diego County. This year we’re aiming even higher!

The Power of 10!

If every race participant asked 10 friends for $10 each, they could raise $100.

If every team had 10 people who asked 10 friends that would pack quite a punch! If every participant in San Diego raised an average of $100 over the registration fee, we would raise an additional $1.2 million!

These funds will be used to fund breast cancer research, provide breast health education, breast cancer screening and detection services, and support services for San Diego County’s uninsured and underinsured breast cancer survivors.

When you register for the Race you automatically received your own fundraising website which can be personalized. Start now by logging in, and encouraging everyone you know to visit your site, see what you are doing in the fight against breast cancer and make a donation on your behalf. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stays right here in San Diego County. The remaining income goes to fund international research.
